Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Shezad Ahamed (“we”) for the SAND app on iPhone and iPad. By downloading or using SAND, you agree to these terms. Purchases made through the App Store are also covered by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

Summary

The app

SAND browses photos and videos in folders and drives you choose, including a drive that appears in Files after you connect it. Features can change between versions. A connected drive must be readable by iOS. SAND does not guarantee that every adapter, format, or drive will work.

You are responsible for the files you open, copy, edit, or delete. Keep your own backups. SAND is not a cloud backup service.

Free use and SAND Pro

Browsing, basic editing, and standard export stay free. Without SAND Pro, the app includes one user-created on-device folder plus Imports, one connected drive location and its subfolders, one folder lock shared with Hidden Vault, and three saved exports per calendar month each for face blur and background removal. Existing folders and files remain accessible if Pro ends.

SAND Pro Lifetime is an optional one-time in-app purchase. It unlocks unlimited on-device folders, unlimited saved drive locations, additional folder locks, unlimited face-blur and background-removal exports, and the Retro and Neubrutalist themes. It is not a subscription and it does not auto-renew. The price is shown in the app before you confirm the purchase with Apple.

A new installation can start a seven-day Pro trial on that device. The trial does not require a payment method, is not billed by Apple, and can be used once on the device. When it ends, Pro features return to the free limits unless you have purchased SAND Pro Lifetime.

Restore Purchases checks the Apple ID signed in on the device. If Apple has no SAND Pro purchase for that Apple ID, nothing is restored. Refunds are requested from Apple, not from us.

Locks

Folder locks and Hidden Vault are access controls inside the app. They are not a promise that files are encrypted against someone who can reach the device, a backup, or the files another way. We cannot recover a forgotten password, PIN, or pattern.

Acceptable use

Do not use SAND to break the law, infringe someone else’s rights, or interfere with the app or the App Store. You must have the right to access the folders and media you open with SAND.

Disclaimer and liability

SAND is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, that every file will open, or that an edit or transfer will complete without loss.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of photos, videos, or data, arising from your use of SAND. Our total liability for a claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for SAND Pro in the twelve months before the claim, or zero if you only used the free app. Some places do not allow these limits, so they apply only where they are allowed.

Apple

These terms are between you and Shezad Ahamed, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for SAND or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. If the app fails to meet a warranty that cannot be disclaimed, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price of the app itself. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and can enforce them.

Changes

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. If you keep using SAND after an update, the revised terms apply. If you bought SAND Pro, that purchase remains a one-time unlock of the Pro features described at the time of purchase, subject to Apple’s rules.
